We were out on the beach with this family in January and it was just too windy and cold for everybody but especially little baby M. And now just a few months later here is little Miss M – no baby anymore happily frolicking on the beach.

So the summer relaxation is slowly getting the better of me. I have a trip coming up and I’m finding that the procrastination bug occasionally wins out when I should be doing something more productive such as … I dunno posting the rest of the Movers and Shakers. This is my coy little way of appologizing for the delay.
There are times when I wonder if my talents behind the camera can do a subject justice. This is one of those times. I loved meeting Naida – her eyes have a twinkle that shows a love of life and her smile really warms a room. I do hope that comes through in these portraits.

More Movers and Shakers. This is Ian Torres from JBG Communications. We met Ian for the first time on the day of the Movers and Shakers sessions in July. He has the most sparkling white teeth that I think I’ve ever seen. I was really impressed and I did run out later that day and buy what he recommended for whitening my own teeth.

We had an exciting day of Movers and Shakers Portraits last week. It was our busiest day of Movers and Shakers yet which was a great treat since it’s the dead of summer and you’d think everybody would be on vacation.
This is Mileyka Burgos she owns Picture Perfect Planning, an event management company specializing in corporate events and destination management. Her goal is to creatively produce events that nourish, promote and encourage personal and business relationships. She enjoys traveling, taking road trips and sharing memorable moments with friends and family.
She’s also a great treat to spend time with and she has a really magnetic smile (in my opinion).

This was a self-assignment for me. Which is to say that I asked my mommyto-be friend to come in and do something new and crazy with me. She is a treat to work with and her daughter is a good buddy of my son’s.

Yesterday was a busy day in the studio. We had our monthly movers and shakers portrait sessions which is a busy day. It’s a fun program. We met lots of great new people and learn about what they do. You’ll see their profiles here in a few days so check back.
In the afternoon I had to step out of the studio to go meet the bee man at our house because a hive of honey bees had taken up residence under our playset. While I’m a fan of bees I thought that was a lousy spot for them and so a quick turn of the yellow pages took us to Bee Wise. They came out quickly, assessed our bee situation and took care of the bees.
And now back to bees-ness as usuall.

We all have fond memories of our families, and this will definitely be one of them for this family I shot on their vacation in Miami Beach. The parents were so positive in spite of a sick child and children that did not like the beach, we had a great time!

Yesterday picking up my son from camp I ran into a friend, Max. He’s 5. He was in my daughters class this year. He’s a cutie – you’ve seen him here on the blog. He told me that the whole city of Miami had been sprayed for mosquitoes. I was happy to hear this because they have been driving me crazy lately. I mean they would get into the car while we were getting in and terrorize my children while we were driving. Major ICK. But to be honest I wasn’t entirely sure if he really knew what he was talking about. Did I mention he’s 5? But then I did notice that the army of flying bloodsuckers that has been hovering outside my door (they gather around my mailbox for some mystical reason) was gone. [poof] So, I think he was right. I’m going to see what else he knows later today.
In other news this is an image from a recent wedding. Congratulations to the Newlyweds! Happy Packing on your journeys. We’re working through the other images and putting your album together as we speak.Okay, as we type.

One of my favorite things about being a photographer is that I get to meet all kinds of people. What’s wild is that I had already met this person and then I got to learn something new about them which I also love.
I discovered that this client was a body builder … which explains how she has the most awesome arm definition I may have ever seen. Seriously, when I grow up I want to have arms that are as phenomenal as hers. Wait … I am grown up. Okay … back to the gym.
