Mischief and Mayhem

September 30, 2008

I could have also called this post double trouble. I think that little boys are special. But more importantly they are soooo quick. I love these boys. They are happy, curious and adventurous. I wouldn’t have it any other way to be sure. But they did do something that hadn’t been done before which is that they did *almost* pull the backdrop down. EEEK.

Can you imagine? Moving that studio enhancement right to the top of the list because that shouldn’t happen.

On of my mindful statements… mantras if you will is to embrace the chaos. Because even amidst the chaos is charm and beauty.

These first previews are probably actually outtakes but oh how they make me smile.

Hee hee. They really do make me laugh. It just cracks me up.

But never fear because there is also this:

Your full preview is coming soon so this is just a taste. Thanks for spending your morning with me.

My kids have a special talent

September 23, 2008

I don’t often post about my own family but I really think my children have a special talent.

It’s rapid mess making. Not just little messes either … big, colossal messes.

The other night after we just had spent a while picking up as a group and everybody was in their pjs ready for a solid night of sleeping the phone rang. The house was generally tidy and the toys were all away in their cabinets and boxes. I turned around to answer the phone … I then explained that I wasn’t actually available to answer whatever marketing survey this person was interested in asking me since I had small children who needed to go to bed. I then hung up the phone. In that time … In that teeny tiny time my kids managed to push a chair to the cabinet … open the cabinet … pull out the crayons … spill the crayons and even step on a few crayons.

I was amazed. Impressed would be the wrong word because my frustration definitely outweighed the amazement. Strangely but not surprisingly it took at least 10 times as long to clean up the crayons and get back to the bedtime routine.

I’m telling you that they have a special talent. My husband thinks all kids are equally talented in this regard but I’m not so sure. I’m off to research whether there is such a thing as a mess making contest that I can enter them into. Perhaps they can earn prizes to deposit into their kiddie accounts and save for a rainy day?  Hmmmm.

Big eyes on baby R

September 18, 2008

When I meet new … new little babies my plan is usually to wrap them up and warm them up and rock them into a nice solid sleepytime. But Baby R would have none of that. She was wide eyed and curious for our whole time together. Which was great because she’s very charming and she even showed some smiles for mom and dad.

Who is this guy

September 16, 2008

Okay so I must be feeling imp-ish today. You guys know what an imp is, right. Little goofy fellow making trouble.

In my first review of this session this was an image that jumped out at me. I’ve known this family for a few years now and their kids have been all over the website and the blog. So we took a few minutes at the end of the session to get some pictures of them together. Of course, this was when the kids decided they wanted nothing more than to be “involved.”

So, this is probably actually what you’d call an outtake from this session. But I love it. I think I would name it, “What’s happening here?”

What’s happening here

Thanks for coming in you guys. The full set will be available soon.

Baby J and his big brother

September 12, 2008

This is a family I have known from the beginning. I know from knowing them that fall is their season. I think moreso since they now have 2 beautiful, healthy boys in their group.

If you read the blog you’ve seen the big brother before I think he has spectacular eyes and I love that he’s a little imp (I say that with love). Here he is breaking in my new garage sale find. You can’t see it in the image but as you can tell it’s a popular item with the toddler set.

Here he is exploring his little brother. Like many toddlers he might love him occasionally with a bit more gusto than parents might like. But I think that these two will probably be best friends in just a little bit.

The last preview today is mom and new baby J. See how calm she is. Of course, that’s because behind the camera dad is doing his dad thing with the older sib. Thank you dad for your help. We couldn’t have done this session without you. Well, we could have but we would have been much more stressed out by the end.  And who has time for that?

Thanks for sharing your beautiful family with me. I’ll see you soon.

So, my son is a booger-head. He’s totally congested and has been for a while so after some deliberation I hauled him to the Doctor today. I mean … you don’t want to go if you don’t have to because you could go in with a cold and come out with strep throat. I do try to keep my visits there to a minimum … which is funny because I feel like I’m there all the time. Good thing I really like my pediatrician.

But this was my morning (I know many of you have done this routine) … drive to school … drive to the doctors office … wait … see the doctor … discuss boogers …  drive to the pharmacy … wait … bleh. It’s enough to make a girl want to take a nap :-) Oh wait … the nap was for my son.

September is the anniversary

September 2, 2008

So that brings with it the anniversary special.

drum  roll please ….

To celebrate the anniversary of the studio during the month of September the session or creation fee will be waived. I know … I’m crazy but that’s the deal. When you schedule your next session during the month of September your session will be free so the only thing you will pay will be for the prints you order. Now last year this was a very popular offer and so there is a little bit of fine print. So, read on for details.

First, the session must be completed in September to take advantage of this offer. So, if you cannot make it in September please do not ask me to extend the offer. This offer is good for existing clients but can also be used for new clients as well. This offer is only valid for studio sessions. If you want to apply this offer to a location session … call us to see what we can work out. This offer cannot be combined with or applied to other pre-paid collections. Cancellations will make us cranky so if you want to take advantage of this offer please do not cancel … it’s not nice. Lastly to be clear this offer expires 9/30/2008.

Thank you for reading the blog — thank you for being my client.
