Summer in Florida

May 20, 2008

So … yesterday evening after visiting the local ice cream shop (Whip-n-dip) for an after dinner treat my husband wants to take a walk through a nearby park. Sounds like fun so we park … we unload … off go my husband and my daughter and I’m bringing up the back with my son and YOWZER my foot is on fire … then my feet are on fire. I must have stepped onto an ant pile of fire ants. So, I did the required dance meanwhile swatting at my feet and yelping (that’s required too). Eventually, my husband noticed and decided that something was amiss and came to assist. Of course, by that time I was standing in the street with my shoes off committing fire ant genocide. So, no park for us last night — home to spray my limbs with benadryl instead. Ahhh summer time.

As a side note my friend Jen just opened the Allergy Free Shop here in Miami so I encourage everyone to check it out when you have a chance.

Smart Bride and Groom

May 14, 2008

I’m not usually intimidated — something that comes in handy since I meet new awesome people everyday. But for this wedding the bride and groom met at Harvard. So, I knew that they were smart. It shows because they made a very smart choice in their wedding photographer … (said the photographer modestly). Then I found out that most of the bridesmaids and groomsmen were also Harvard grads. Yikes … smart crowd if I do say so myself.

They were blessed with fantastic weather the day of their wedding. I was blessed with a nice bright church with a fantastic stained glass window over the alter.

Needless to say the event went off without a hitch as I presume will their marriage.

Here are the previews of their wedding.

Energy to burn

May 7, 2008

This little guy … the big one came to the studio with sooooo much energy. He wore Jozy out. Of course, she doesn’t have kids yet so the energy of a 2 year old is definitely something to marvel at. I think he had a good time with us. Of course we had a blast with him.

He’s a good big brother too as you can tell. Of course, who couldn’t love this little one…so smiley!

We all need a massage

May 6, 2008

This is a shameless plug for my friend Christina Rodriguez-Pacheco. She teaches infant massage at Mercy Hospital. So, if you’re home with a new baby looking for things to do give her a call or send her an email to find out about her classes. Infant massage is great fun for mom’s and baby’s alike. I mean seriously — who doesn’t enjoy a massage :-)

You can reach her at crodriguezpacheco@hotmail.com .
