One of my favorite parts of my job and I believe that I do have the best job ever. Is that I get to meet my clients several times as we go through the process. I’ve known this shy little munchkin since she was in the belly. She was in recently and gave me some of her bestest charm and then was nice enough to share her snacks with me when she decided we were finished.

Don’t ya just love it!

In the past I haven’t been too great about updating the blog but I’ve turned over a new leaf and I plan to try to update the blog regularly. We’ll see what happens.
I hope that you … whomever you are…enjoy reading the blog and seeing images from recent sessions. Not all sessions are posted to the blog. There’s no rhyme or reason to what or who I post. So, if you’re not posted please don’t take it personally.
Did you know that you can subscribe to the blog? Where you’ll see if there are new posts and can read it at your leisure without having to remember to go back and check if it’s updated? It’s very cool. There are several ways to do it and I’m by no means an expert. In my browser, Firefox (which I love) I have a blog reader in the toolbar and I simply add the feed there. Then I can select that and see if there is a new post and if so I read it and if not I’m onto the next thing. Super cool. I recommend it.

I hope that overall I create portraits that thrill my clients. But one thing that I’m working on at the moment is creating a concise guide to deliver to my clients to help them prepare for their portrait sessions. I’m going to post these items here on the blog so that they are a continuing resource for clients.
So stay tuned over the next few days, weeks as these tips are posted. Let me know what you think of this new feature of the blog. I hope that you find it helpful.
Tune in tomorrow for the first installment – “What makes a perfect portrait?”
So, how early in the day do you start to think about what’s for dinner? I’ll admit that before I had kids it was about 5 minutes before I ate … of course then sometimes dinner was a bowl of Golden Grahams. Now that I have small people who are in my care and need to eat but aren’t able to prepare their own food it requires a bit more planning. 10 minutes earlier at least … just kidding.
As you might imagine my family schedule is busy. Lot’s of kids, lot’s of activities, the studio, Project Runway final to watch, stuff, stuff, stuff to do. So I’m always on the lookout for ways to make my life more simple and efficient without sacrificing quality….who isn’t.
Recently, I was able to try something new and I’m excited about it. Here’s what happened. I went to a meeting at a store named Dream Dinners in Pinecrest. After the meeting the store owner sent me home with a sample of a pre-assembled (but uncooked dinner). The next day I knew what was for dinner because it was in the fridge-er-roo waiting. I realized that I was thinking about dinner as early as the morning (when I take things out to defrost) and that I was a bit more relaxed because I didn’t have to think about it. The, to top it all off the meal was really good and easy to make.
So, I’m a convert. I placed my order.

The cover contest is over. It’s my first contest on a blog and it was terrific fun and I’m thrilled with the results. Tune in next week to see the results on the home page. We’re actually going to have 6 winners because I omitted image 7 by accident from the voting and so in order to be fair I’m going to include that family in the rotation and the awards.
Thank you to everybody who participated!
Onto new things. There is somebody new in the studio. Her name is Jocelyn and she goes by Jozy (like Josie and the pussycats). She’s a student at the Miami International University which used to be the Art Institute. And she’s helping me out. So when you call you might speak to her instead of me. And when you come by you might see her instead of me too.

I have very smart clients. These folks came in super prepared with lots of ideas and plenty of patience too. The results definitely show. Here’s just a quick preview of mom and dad with their new little bundle.

Don’t worry mom and dad — there’s more to see.
