So, my kids are out of school … summer is here … the rainy season is here. What other updates do I have? Oh, this is Memorial Day Weekend — everybody have a safe and happy weekend. I hope the weather improves.

Here is a way overdue preview. Some of my favorites from a park – part deux of a session where part one was rained out.

So, this I think is proof that I have not totally disappeared from the planet but admittedly am a little behind. Catch up begins now.

*here I come*

April 25, 2009

I have to say that I am very lucky to meet a lot of excellent and adorable babies. This little guy was no exception. He is so gentle and happy and relaxed. He was on his belly the whole time and all smiles.

*words of wisdom*

April 17, 2009

Yesterday I saw an article in the Miami Herald that was actually about recipes that can use the food you have in your pantry. I only read the beginning but the author mentioned that her mom had told her when she was young to always make sure to buy her clothes as full outfits otherwise you would be wasting money on something that would hang unused in your closet. That struck a familiar chord with me because my own mother gave me the same sage advice. I don’t always follow it but she shared it nonetheless. But it got me thinking about what things our mothers tell us that stick with us over the years. My favorite expression that my mother used to use was, “that makes me so mad I could just spit!” Even as a kid I thought, really, does anybody spit when they are mad? I know I don’t. Oh well, what are mom’s for if not sharing words of wisdom with our kids. I can’t imagine what things I say that my kids will remember.

Today’s image is from my morning on the beach. It was breezy so my little bubba here got a little unhappy which is really unlike him. He is sooooo calm as a baby. But he was happier when we got out of the wind I will say. Here is a tender moment with mom hiding from the wind and then later sharing his totally rad shades with me.

* i need a bigger bowl *

March 24, 2009

There was no post yesterday. You just had to get through the day without your jady blog update. I knew you could do it. It was my wedding anniversary so I took the day off and spent it with my husband. We wend mountain biking in the morning and to dinner later. It was great – thanks for asking :-)

So todays Picture of the Day is from a recent session. It’s an idea I found somewhere but I can’t remember where. He’s not quite old enough to actually be climbing into bowls but that day will come soon. This is the biggest bowl I have in my house. It holds a lot of popcorn but not a lot of 7-month old baby apparently. But isn’t he doing a nice job sitting up – even when the crazy photographer puts him in a bowl.

Baby Fever

February 26, 2009

I had the joy of working with this little guy (and I do mean little) for not just one but two days this week. He’s not … how shall we say … a sleeper. But holding him was so much fun. It does give a girl baby fever. Then I was nicely reminded by his parents that they aren’t sleeping all that much which helps with the baby fever.

Double Trouble

February 6, 2009

I see babies in black and white. It’s just the way my mind works. These two little guys just happen to be my neighbors so I was thrilled to meet them in person. They are the first pair of identical twins I’ve had in a long time but they seemed to me to already have two great personalities. It helps that they were kind enough to go to sleep right when I asked them to. Look at those cute little feet, and cute little belly buttons…and two of everything.

ooooh!

February 3, 2009

For the record this was the final session in the old studio … am I feeling nostalgic. Not so much. I guess I’m too excited about the new location. I have gotten to know this little guy very well over the last year. He’s been in to see me once a month. He’s just turned one in case you didn’t already guess.

oooh!

Until tomorrow – A

Well mom and dad and grandma know that baby “S” is always on the go with no time for sleeping. This little munchkin has a lot to do and she’s not waiting for anybody. She’s ready to crawl, walk and talk all at the same time.

Okay so she did eventually crash for a little nap … but I promise you she was jumping around until the very last second when she was asleep *poof* sleeping. It was a riot.

Thanks for spending some time with me and I’ll see you guys soon for your whole show.

Big eyes on baby R

September 18, 2008

When I meet new … new little babies my plan is usually to wrap them up and warm them up and rock them into a nice solid sleepytime. But Baby R would have none of that. She was wide eyed and curious for our whole time together. Which was great because she’s very charming and she even showed some smiles for mom and dad.

So, that’s your preview. Your full session will be ready soon. Thank you for sharing your new family with me.

Baby J and his big brother

September 12, 2008

This is a family I have known from the beginning. I know from knowing them that fall is their season. I think moreso since they now have 2 beautiful, healthy boys in their group.

If you read the blog you’ve seen the big brother before I think he has spectacular eyes and I love that he’s a little imp (I say that with love). Here he is breaking in my new garage sale find. You can’t see it in the image but as you can tell it’s a popular item with the toddler set.

Here he is exploring his little brother. Like many toddlers he might love him occasionally with a bit more gusto than parents might like. But I think that these two will probably be best friends in just a little bit.

The last preview today is mom and new baby J. See how calm she is. Of course, that’s because behind the camera dad is doing his dad thing with the older sib. Thank you dad for your help. We couldn’t have done this session without you. Well, we could have but we would have been much more stressed out by the end.  And who has time for that?

Thanks for sharing your beautiful family with me. I’ll see you soon.
