One a month we open our studio to corporate portraits. We call this the Movers & Shakers program. This is a give back that we do for the business community in Miami. That’s round one of our Corporate Portraits – Movers and Shakers for July. Round two comes tomorrow.

Oh my goodness Spring Break was busy at my house. Between swim lessons and egg hunts and matzoh hunts I didn’t know which way was coming and which way was going. We traveled and we had house guests all in one week. I felt like I needed a vacation from my kids vacation.

Marcy had the forethought to ask for the week off … ahem when I approved that it should have occurred to me that my kids would be out too. When will I learn? Luckily Amanda was holding down the fort and tolerating me running here and there and everywhere.

Here are some highlights though. My brother and his wife moved from Minneapolis to Hollywood. Much closer for me which I’m thrilled about. I even took all 4 cousins to the beach for an afternoon to keep them out of the way of the moving truck. Love the Hollywood beach boardwalk. I think they call it the Oceanwalk? My back may never recover from carrying the toddler and all the bags. Good thing it has all that practice carrying the camera bag … oh wait… I use a rolling bag. Okay … call the chiropractor!

I did make it to one night of the Sony Erickson Open. What fun that was. Did I mention I’m a much better tennis player than my husband. It’s true you can ask him and I can say that here because he doesn’t actually read the blog. tee-hee, tee-hee. And I watched a little bit of March Maddness even though my team was out of the tourney. Silly Northern Iowa. I didn’t make it up for all of the final last night but man those highlights were awesome! I was cheering for Butler in case anybody was curious.

I also celebrated my 8th wedding anniversary – Happy Anniversary to me!

Now – back to work. Where is that draft of the newsletter … hmmm is it under this Easter candy? Yum -o pastel candy corn. Wait … wasn’t I doing something?

Wednesday, October 14th is the Jady Flash Sessions for October. Tis the season when the flash sessions start to be very in demand. We will be starting holiday card mini sessions later in the month but this fall season is always a good time for a cute photo of the kids. We’ll crank down the AC and you can bring them in in overalls or sweaters or even their costumes.

I was inspired by another awesome photographer to actually make a flyer for this event. Alas, while I am many things – a designer is not one of them.  However hopefully it serves the purpose of spreading the word. Call today to schedule your sessions.

I mentioned yesterday that I was all into wrapping up my mommies to be. So here’s another one. Every mother will tell you that the second pregnancy is totally different with a toddler in tow. Every photographer will tell you that any portrait session with a toddler is more interesting than one without

This is a beautiful mommy to be and a beautiful toddler too. I’m super excited to meet the newest member of the family in a short while.

Congratulations baby J on your baptism last week. This is just a little preview – it looks like the day went really well. I love this image of the baby entertaining himself with the candle box to keep busy during the mass.

I have to say that I am very lucky to meet a lot of excellent and adorable babies. This little guy was no exception. He is so gentle and happy and relaxed. He was on his belly the whole time and all smiles.

This I think might be the coolest invitation I’ve seen in a while. I have seen something similar with a small plastic bottle but this is a full size glass bottle. The invitation is rolled up inside. It’s so beautiful I’m not sure I’ll ever open it. Also I’m afraid I’d never get the cork back in.

You’ll see more from this beach wedding in a while but this is a preview. The bride dropped it off when we got together to chat about her awesome wedding which is around the corner.

The invitations (if you’re curious … and I know you are … be honest) came from what looks to be a fantastic paper store Passion Paper.

There was no post yesterday. You just had to get through the day without your jady blog update. I knew you could do it. It was my wedding anniversary so I took the day off and spent it with my husband. We wend mountain biking in the morning and to dinner later. It was great – thanks for asking

So todays Picture of the Day is from a recent session. It’s an idea I found somewhere but I can’t remember where. He’s not quite old enough to actually be climbing into bowls but that day will come soon. This is the biggest bowl I have in my house. It holds a lot of popcorn but not a lot of 7-month old baby apparently. But isn’t he doing a nice job sitting up – even when the crazy photographer puts him in a bowl.

So, the new blog format is coming along. The image on the header is now from the studio – very important. The side panels (if you see them) are green. I think that there is an issue with the comments that may be beyond my technical ability and I have no idea how to get rid of the twitter bar … or actually to hook it to my totally inactive twitter feed. I may have to call in the reinforcements for that. By reinforcements I mean I’m going to ask my brother for help but he’s a little sleep deprived with a new baby so it may not be an immediate answer. That’s okay. I’ve discovered that I can be quite patient in my middle-ageness.

I’m calling todays photo of the day the header graphic – although 2 of the 3 are repeats. Maybe all 3 actually.

In other news today is a big day because I actually remembered to bring a sandwich to put in my little fridge for lunch and that’s not all … juice boxes. I know — I live an exciting life.
